The Silver Line came to be well over last year, 2010 actually. A man by the name of Nicholas Crepea who i met through he, i really liked his photography work, and at the time i was very fresh an new in doing any of this and had the idea to have some pics done.
I had mentioned something about it and we had went from there. The idea i had, to match his level of skill an beautiful women was to have silver pieces. The idea popped into my head to make a tear drop pendant and have a necklace with 4 Diamond Points made of obsidian strung along a silver necklace.
With no idea how to make anything of silver, my old friend Gebers, Awahusu Spoonhunter had told me a while back of a man named Neil Martinez who ran Native Bling just out of bishop who does silver work. I never got ahold of him though, i wasn't ready to do all that quite yet.
At a small show at the gym he happened to be there, i liked his work, told him what i wanted to do, he sketched out a few things and within a certain time i had the 5 pieces done (obsidian). Mark Tillemans, another friend was going up to Bishop, 15 miles from where I stay he took me to where i had to go, and i dropped the pieces off at Neils house and it wasn't too long before the products were finished.
He wasn't home that night when I went to pick up the first one, I recall some sort of event or night out with his family going on, but we had previously talked and he left the first piece covered outside. An man my eyes were blown away, that shit looked professional, top of the line, just bomb bay all the way around. We had traded work for work, i got the pendant an in return he got a red blade of Oregon obsidian. It was a good trade.
But unfortunately much time had passed since my original agreement with Nicholas Crepea and the plans never went through. But each one of these men more of less played a part in the Idea of The Silver Line.
And since that first piece I've worked with Neil Martinez - Native Bling, Armando of Bishop Jewelery, Dusty Buckley of DPB Jewelry in the area of the silver craft. I intend though we will see to be able to make my own pieces sometime down the line. Until then it's colabo time.
An the silver pieces have gone all over the place, to men and women, very mature strong pieces. So we'll see where the road goes from here, it's not always just one that plays the part in anyones story... there's much more.
The small show at the gym might be on the pic I already commented I woul had like to be there? I double this regreat, would had liked to meet this Neil Martinez
Beautiful idea. I think the elegant polished feel of a silver setting with the primeval powerful energy of your stone pieces should make for a unique and strong line of jewelry!
